Why we don't recommend linking more than one review site

Background

You will see that in the Review System > Settings section of the dashboard, you can add URLs and redirects to the following websites.

  • TripAdvisor
  • Facebook Recommendations
  • Google Reviews
  • Zomato
  • Yelp!
  • Trust Pilot
  • Holiday Check

When you setup a venue, if you use the Google Maps Place Picker tool, your Google Review site will be automatically linked and added to your Venue setup. You can add as many of the other links as you please, but it is our recommendation to only link to one review site.

But why?

You will know that based on the response a user clicks on the Review Request Email that they will be taken in one of two directions.

  • Positive Response - Directed to leave positive review online.
  • Negative Response - Redirected to a landing page to gather feedback privately, away from online review sites.

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to get happy customers and guests on your online review sites and leaving positive reviews which will be shown to the world.

If you have only one linked review site, we can take people there directly after they click their star rating.

If you have more than one linked review site, then where do we take them? We need to take them to a web page in between where we display the available links and they can choose which site to visit.

Every additional page and click caused friction and a reason for a user to drop off from the flow. Therefore, we recommend eliminating the in-between page asking them which site to visit and just take them directly to your number one review site.

Less clicks, less friction, more reviews.

Example Review Landing Page
