Can I run ads on the WiFi?

A common question we get is can you can run ads on the WiFi system?

Simply put, you can only place images or YouTube videos on the WiFi login pages.

We do not integrate with ad delivery networks like Google Ads for the placing of third party ads on a login page, and you cannot interrupt a users WiFi session to push an ad to them.

Why can’t we push an ad during a users WiFi session? Encrypted Traffic (HTTPS)
Modern web traffic is encrypted by https. To interrupt a session and display a new captive portal page or a full-screen ad, the network would have to perform a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack to intercept and redirect the encrypted connection. This is highly discouraged and will trigger security warnings on the user’s device, and breaks trust.
