USA Registration

The sending of SMS Marketing campaigns in the USA is a regulated process and requires submission of registration, requests and approval by telecoms providers before they can be sent. The process can be lengthy and can result in rejections.

While we offer SMS Marketing services in the USA, we do not provide guarantees of our ability to provide these for all campaigns and businesses. We will apply to the telcos on your behalf and if approved, deliver the campaigns.

In the USA, we use Vonage are the SMS delivery vendor. We pass on their fees at cost to our resellers and clients.

SMS Login

All clients can use our verification template to validate mobile phone numbers during the login process. When a user puts their phone number into the WiFi login form, we will send them a code via SMS to verify that the number belongs to them.

When verified, they will be added to the User Data CRM in the dashboard, if the user opted in to marketing communication.

We provide SMS login codes without the need to get verified, but as a result, the SMS messages will not be branded. But it is much quicker and easier to start collecting phone numbers.

All users get the choice to opt out. We cannot legally block WiFi access for not accepting marketing communications.

SMS Marketing

For Automations and Mass Campaigns, the content of SMS campaigns needs to be submitted via Vonage to the Telecoms carriers for approval. This can be a long process, especially for businesses starting these for the first time.

Below are the costs charged by the carriers to get started. SMS delivery costs are on top of these once approval is granted. All costs are in US Dollars.

  1. Brand creation with Vonage

    1. $6 one time fee. $3 monthly fee thereafter.

    2. A brand might require further external vetting for $50. This seems to be only required for higher volume businesses.

  2. Create the first campaign

    1. Fees range between $3 and $15 per month for campaigns. The fee depends on the campaign content, but most clients are at the lower end of this scale.

    2. This is the most commonly rejected stage of the process.

  3. Choose a new phone number for the brand.

    1. $2 per month. Once the two above steps are completed, this is quick and easy.

Summary

You can collect phone numbers via Social WiFi from day one. To use those phone numbers within Social WiFi systems takes time and cost to setup.

You can export the data from Social WiFi and use in your existing systems if you have them at any time. Data can be downloaded by Excel file and we have integrations to many CRM tools, webhooks and an open API.
