Bulk email campaigns sending rules
As of August 15th, 2024, we’ve made important changes to our mass mailing policies due to updates in Gmail and Yahoo's spam filters. These filters have become stricter, which can impact the deliverability of emails sent from the Social WiFi domain. To protect our domain and ensure that all our clients benefit from high deliverability rates, we’ve introduced new guidelines for email marketing campaigns.
Why the Change?
When clients send email campaigns through the default Social WiFi domain, there’s a risk of being flagged as spam if the emails are low quality or sent to disengaged users. To avoid this and protect the domain’s reputation, we’ve implemented a new rule:
Email marketing campaigns can only be sent to customers who have logged into the client’s network within the last 6 months.
This change greatly reduces the likelihood of being flagged as spam, as users who haven’t engaged with the network in over 6 months account for most of the unsubscriptions and spam complaints.
Important Notes
This rule only applies to email marketing campaigns.
Automated emails triggered by recent customer interactions, such as follow-up messages or service-related notifications, are unaffected by this change.
By ensuring that campaigns are only sent to active users, we aim to maintain the highest possible email deliverability and safeguard the mass mailing experience for all clients.
New Option: send emails from your own domain
To offer more flexibility, clients now have the option to send email campaigns from their own domain. This is ideal for clients who regularly send out mass emails and want greater control over their email reputation.

Conclusion
These updates are designed to improve email deliverability and enhance client control. For those who frequently run email campaigns, setting up a custom domain is the optimal choice for maximizing results.
