Dashboard statistics – what do they represent?

The Social WiFi dashboard holds the key statistics about your WiFi usage and users. There are several terms used and it is important to understand what these mean to accurately interpret the data.

In this article, we will focus on the Device Statistics and User Statistics tabs and what the data means.

Device Statistics

Device Connections – The number of times devices have connected to the network. A single device may connect multiple times. These devices have not necessarily logged in to your guest WiFi network.

Unique Devices Connected – The number of unique devices that have connected to the network.

Device Logins – The number of times devices has authenticated themselves on your guest WiFi network and logged in and gained internet access. A single device can authenticate itself more than once.

Unique Device Logins – The number of unique devices that have authenticated themselves on your Guest network therefore logged in gaining internet access.

The data shown in these fields corresponds to the network activity of the date range that is selected.

For example: Your business is very quiet and only one person in the entire month visits your business. They visit every day for 30 days and log in to your network each time.

  • Connections = 30

  • Unique Connected = 1

  • Authentications = 30

  • Unique Authenticated = 1

Two customers visit your business each day in the month. Each time they look to join your WiFi network. Each day one of your customers logs in to the WiFi, but the other customer decides not to log in after seeing the WiFi login page.

  • Connections = 60

  • Unique Connected = 2

  • Authentications = 30

  • Unique Authenticated = 1

User Statistics

User Logins – The number of times a person has logged in. A person can log in with more than one device on more than one occasion.

Unique User Logins – The number of unique individuals that have logged in. One Unique User = One line of User Data, as long as they have accepted your terms.

Confirmed Accounts – The number of user profiles added to your User Data section.

  • Unique User Logins = 1
